Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is defined as the commitment of companies that ethically acquire a social duty to improve communities, the environment, and the economy, seeking to be more competitive, add value and generate a positive social impact.

 

Therefore, companies that wish to make this differentiator must implement a set of defined practices, strategies, and processes that achieve a balance between social, environmental, and economic aspects.

 

To achieve these objectives, an ethical conscience must emerge from within the organization concerning the different problems that afflict society. To this end, it is important to take into account the place of operation of its activities, its main objective is the communities and the environment.

 

No less important is to involve all members of the company, from workers to managers, channeling the efforts from each of the departments, incorporating mechanisms of action that generate the expected results, in some cases the idea is to establish an independent unit that monitors, evaluates and redirects the results presented by each goal of the process.

 

Initially, for there to be a real transformation, the proposed objectives must be born from ethics and as a priority to implement them within the organization, which will later be reconciled with the expectations of the surrounding communities.

 

For this reason, human rights and compliance with the law play a fundamental role in any social responsibility process, so it is essential to respect the rights of workers, the equitable and fair distribution of income, and the correct use of the company's resources.

 

It is important that, parallel to the process, an impeccable reputation of the brand is built, the banner is the professional development of its employees, the improvement of their quality of life, and the implementation of drastic sanctions for any act of corruption identified.

 

Similarly, any action that involves a CSR process must be measurable through public reports or news that inform stakeholders of the progress and setbacks that occur, in certain cases, it is possible to count on specialized companies that advise, evaluate and establish the scope of all levels targeted by the strategy.

 

As it is an integral process, creativity must be a priority, ensuring the necessary synergy between collaborators, consumers, suppliers, and all those who are affected by the organizational activities that result in collective good.

 

Many companies improve and optimize their communication channels all kinds of ideas and suggestions can be expressed freely and spontaneously and, after evaluation, can become part of the strategy.

 

Another step in the planning of a CSR activity is the investment in research and development of new sustainable products to reach new market niches and position the company among responsible consumers; thus, more and more customers prefer to buy products from companies with which they feel identified, such as environmental groups that prefer to buy from companies that at the same time support or get involved in tree planting and sowing processes.
