3 aspects to take into account for park maintenance

3 aspects to take into account for park maintenance

The non-conservation of parks is due to different factors such as, for example, those entities that have public parks and do not have enough respectful care with that public benefit or the simple fact of public entities that do not fully comply with the proper maintenance in vital times for the conservation of parks. That is why I will mention the 3 fundamental aspects for the maintenance of the parks.

Cleaning

According to current legislation, waste is defined as any substance or object that its holder discards or have the intention or obligation to discard, so cleaning is understood as the action of removing dirt. That is to say that we refer to the operations of eliminating all the remains of papers, plastics, leaves, stones, cigarette butts, and any other foreign element that is not an integral part of the garden and that affects and tarnishes the aesthetic aspect of the same.

Also included in the cleaning tasks are the elimination of plant residues from other conservation tasks such as pruning or mowing and the elimination of adventitious weeds that may give a neglected and abandoned appearance to the green space as a whole or any of its parts and elements.

This work will consist of the elimination of spontaneous growth vegetation (weeds, brush, etc.), fallen leaves, remains of mowing, trimming, and pruning, as well as waste and garbage that by any procedure reaches the areas that are the object of this contract.

To carry out these actions manually, the following tools and implements will be used:

  • Brooms.
  • Brooms.
  • Metallic brooms.
  • Pickers.
  • Shovels.
  • Slats.
  • Trolleys/trolleys for collection.
  • Garbage bags.

Staff shall devote constant and meticulous attention to the cleanliness of all surfaces within the perimeter of parks and green areas, including walkways and pedestrian paths.

Times

The daily cleaning of green spaces requires a selective collection and management of waste due to the different nature of each one of them. The cleaning operation will be carried out as many times as necessary so that the green spaces are free of any type of waste and in a correct state of cleanliness. The operations to be carried out will include actions such as o Cleaning of walkways, green elements, and water areas. o Removal of household items generated by homelessness. o Emptying of garbage cans and containers. o Collection of plant debris not coming from other conservation work (leaves, branches, fruits). o Collection of dog excrement. o Cleaning of solid urban waste after events or citizen gatherings, especially on holidays.

Domestic animals

The presence of domestic animals in the parks means an increase in cleaning operations due to the excrement and waste they leave behind, and their urgent elimination is a priority for quality maintenance.

It is necessary to plan the work with precision and to study the conservation and maintenance project with the presence of operators in sufficient numbers for these days of special waste production.

Trees

Authorized personnel shall perform the following pruning on trees and palms in green areas:

  • Training pruning
  • Maintenance pruning
  • Sanitation pruning
  • Rejuvenation pruning
  • Palm tree pruning

The pruning of trees and palms will be carried out as much as possible at ground level without an elevator, except for those derived from adverse weather conditions or any other that causes imminent danger. They will be aimed at covering the following objectives:

  • To achieve an adequate development of the elements to be pruned, maintaining and improving their health and structure.
  • The structure will follow the natural tendency of the trees.
  • Adapt each plant species to the needs of use of the space it develops.
  • Carry out all pruning work necessary to control the safety of citizens.
  • Correctly form trees, reform those that are poorly formed, and/or rebalance unbalanced crowns.
  • Eliminate dry branches.
  • Eliminate branches and foliage affected by pests and diseases that cannot be treated.

The danger of falling must also be eliminated employing the corresponding preventive actions, based on the elimination of dead elements, and/or any other fastening or support system (wiring, right feet, tutors, anchors, etc.). The materials and all the work and mechanical means necessary for this work will be vital for the conservation of the parks.

Be part of park maintenance and be environmentally responsible!
