- Deforestation
It is the destruction of the forest surface due to man’s actions and activities mother earth’s resources are used and abused, such as cutting down trees, burning suplies, among others.
Consequences
Biodiversity loss, carbon levels in the atmosphere increasement, global warming, soils destruction, decreased air quality and desertification.
- Pollution of rivers, lakes and rivers
Water pollution consists of chemical intruding agents that alter it, making it harmful to human life, our agriculture and the different existing species.
Pollutants such as :
- Sewage
- Garbage and Solid Waste : Metals, plastic, glass (disposal materials, leftovers, waste)
- Chemical and agrotoxic products : fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, all those chemicals from the agriculture industry that are treated on the soils which are carried away by the rain and go to the seas and rivers.
- Sediments and minerals : Volcanic dust, sediments, soil particules, all those materials used in construction.
- Radioactive materials : Waste from nuclear materials are thrown into the ocean.
- Water pollution consequences : Death of a large number of species, causing a biological imbalance for these and other species.
- Wildlife death : because of water chemical alterations that can generate ecological damage to the ecosystem.
- Climate impact : Changes in water’s resource PH impact local weather.
- Soil and air pollution : Undoubtedly, if water is affected, this can generate and impact on soil and air, causing a basic ecosystem reduction.
- Protection of Environmental Leaders
An intelligent person is the one who uses resources in support of the environment making its use an ecological circle, as the ability to solve and understand problems is one of the daily challenges of an environmentalist, it is important to protect them, but in man ocassions this is not the case since due to the power they have among people, disagreements can be generated between government leaders, causing death threats and kidnappings.
- Defense of the Paramos
« Despite their importance, the paramos in Colombia are still being contaminated in a progressive way by mining operations led by large companies which by extracting the material, threaten not only the paramo ecosystem but also the population that depends on the water of these areas ».
- Fracking Use Restriction
« The situation could worsen because of the government decision to do the first fracking pilot project in Colombia, an oil and gas extraction technique rocks from the subsoil are fractured through an extremely high water pressure ». For a long time there has not been a thought about the care and protection that wildlife represents for the preservation of all species, that is why all polluting, flammable, dangerous and toxic substances are nleading us to an environmental decline that cannot be solved from one day to another therefore, it must be protected because without producing organisms suchs as plants and animals, we will disappear in no time.
