The Red de Arboles Foundation decides to create a forest nursery with native species suitable for planting in the Colombian Caribbean region.

The Caribbean region has one of the highest deforestation rates in the country, due to the expansion of the agricultural, livestock and mining frontier.

NATIVE SPECIES

We plant native species, typical of the ecosystem and threatened by economic activities in the region.

DESTINATION

The sole purpose of the Turbaco Nursery seedlings is the conservation and restoration of ecosystems.

OUR SPECIES:

Mataratón, Ceiba, Samán, Ciruelo and Almendrón

Actually we have
7,000 seedlings 70cm high!

Our goal is to have more than 10,000 seedlings 1 meter high, ready to be planted in strategic places.

VOLUNTEERS

In our nursery we strive to take care of the more than 8,000 trees that we have for distribution on the Colombian coast.

They are cared for with natural fertilizers, without chemicals and with a lot of effort so that when they are planted they grow quickly and can contribute to water conservation, animal shelter and erosion prevention.
