
Citizens who plant native trees to offset their carbon footprint will have the opportunity to be recognized with a Siembra Vida Buen Ciudadano certificate that will allow them to access multiple benefits.

Starting in 2023, medium and large companies must include, within their environmental management measures, a planting program in the Living Area that includes the annual planting of at least two (2) trees per employee. Please note that these initiatives are different from those required by environmental licenses or procedures. Micro and small companies can join this initiative by their own decision.

The creation of Life Areas will be the responsibility of the municipal mayors, under the guidance of the Regional Autonomous Corporations and Sustainable Development Corporations, among other authorities and environmental establishments, which must be areas of environmental interest. They will also formulate strategies that encourage the community and academic, non-profit and private actors to manage, conserve and monitor Life Areas.

Article 8°
CERTIFICATION
The municipal secretariats of environment, planning or whoever takes their place, will issue the Sowing Business Life certificate to companies that have complied with this law.
COMPLIANCE
Article 7°
Companies must comply with this law annually, starting the year after the law is enacted. Planning departments or whoever acts in their municipalities and districts will establish an optional calendar for companies to hold planting days with the participation of the community and institutions, promoting environmental awareness.
